Its official, the next designer for H&M will be Mr. Matthew Williamson. YAYYY!!!!!! Williamson is a designer straight from the UK who launched his first collection at NY Fashion Week in 2002. He has created wonderfully exquisite clothing and shoes for women such as Kelly Rowland and Thandie Newton, now its our turn!!!!! The line is scheduled to drop April 23rd. Seems like H&M along with Target have started a brilliant new trend by allowing high end and low end designers to create seasonal lines for their stores. By doing so, the stores always seem fresh and filled with new ideas and items. It’s also a great way to allow budget fashionistas to get great items from fab designers that they otherwise might not have been able to afford. This partnership will mark the debut of Williamson’s first ever line of menswear pieces.
This is what Matthew had to say;
“It is an incredible opportunity to be working with H&M, creating a ‘Matthew Williamson for H&M’ capsule collection. I love the fact that H&M have created a new phenomenon in fashion through the pioneering concept of collaborating with high-end designers to create one-off limited edition capsule collections. I am thrilled that my creations for H&M will be accessible to and hopefully enjoyed by so many people around the world.”
Here is some of his work;
